Te Ara Poutama Intranet
Te Ara Poutama, the Maori Language Department at AUT University, wanted their own intranet for staff and students. This site enables students to download course resources, hand in assignments (including audio assignments which are saved to a Wowza server on Amazon’s EC2 platform), and communicate with other students. Staff are able to manage course content, mark assignments, and also communicate with their students.
This was the first site I had built using the symfony framework. I therefore had to learn everything from YAML files, routing, and modules to Doctrine, migrations and deployment. It was a great experience and a very thorough crash course on symfony. This site is also entirely in HTML5, and uses jQuery heavily throughout the site.
